As a not-for-profit hospital, Shepherd Center, which operates Beyond Therapy®, relies on philanthropic support from individuals, families, corporations and foundations.
Area of Greatest Need:
Beyond Therapy® Program Scholarships
Scholarships are needed for those patients who cannot afford Beyond Therapy®. Currently the program is self-pay and non-reimbursable by insurance. Research is under way at Shepherd Center to collect the data to justify to insurers the value of the program. Availability of scholarships would expand the opportunity for people to take part in the program, who otherwise would not be able to do so. Patients and their families often fundraise within their own communities to make participation in the program a reality. Through an application process, prospective applicants would be screened for eligibility for financial assistance. If an applicant fell below the Federal Poverty Guideline (250%), they would be eligible to apply for a scholarship request to participate in Beyond Therapy® (for up to four months per person).
